Teyo Cordero (b.2004) is currently based in Savannah, Georgia. Through figurative work combined with conceptual commentary on social and political constructs, he reflects on his upbringing as an Italian and a Puerto Rican, using this experience to explore these themes. As a non-religious transgender man, he finds himself at a point of contention. The body is a physical manifestation of the point of intersection of the internal and external. His work explores identity, intersection, and how authentic self-expression contradicts Western societal constructs.
His work will be exhibited as a finalist in the Arte Laguna Prize competition at Arsonale Nord in late November and early December 2026. He is expected to graduate from the Savannah College of Art and Design in 2026 with a B.F.A.
